Katrina’s Dress has been selected!!

This week, I have been watching this post anxiously. I’m dying to know which dress Katrina will wear when she finally walks down the aisle to marry David. (I’m not going to tell him your final selection, because I don’t want to give them bad luck on their wedding day!)

For a while there, the vote was really close. Dresses 2 and 3 were each sitting at 40% of the vote! We were undecided! Although, over the last few hours dress number 3 has snuck ahead, and captured 53.89% of the vote.

Friday Feature – KNOWING DESTINY by Tamsin Baker

Today, I have the pleasure of hosting Aussie erotic author Tamsin Baker. She’s recently Knowing Destiny through Evernight Publishing. Here’s what you need to know about the book and the author…

Shifters of the Land, Sea, and Air, 2

Chase, a golden eagle shifter, is destined to be the leader of his flock, the shifters of the air. But he has a few problems. Not only is he not ready for the responsibility, he isn’t even sure whom he wants as his mate—and there’s the little issue of an unsolved killing to sort out.

Ben is also a golden eagle shifter, but more importantly, he is Chase’s best friend and three-time lover. He wants to be his best friend’s mate, but can he be honest about his feelings?

Ariana is a young peregrine falcon shifter who has loved Chase for years. But how could she say anything? After all, why would he want her when he can have anyone he wants?

Three shifters, with three separate problems, all fighting to find out who they are and how they can love one another.

Be Warned: menage sex (MMF), anal sex, m/m sex

“Yeah, all better now thanks to Ariana and some sleep.”

Ben smiled, his brown eyes darkening at the mention of Ariana’s name.

“She your latest? Isn’t she a bit young to be fooling around with?”

Chase clenched his fists and glared at his friend, his best friend. He was also the only man Chase had ever fucked. The attraction between them was considered unnatural, but they had indulged in it the few times they had been drunk enough and alone.

“I’m not fooling around with her. I want to know more about her, and she literally ran away from me just now.”

Chase didn’t miss the pain and anger that flashed across Ben’s face before it was quickly disguised. What was that about?

“Why? You like her?”

Ben shook his head. “She’s cute but not on my radar.”

Envy pulsed through Chase, and he hated himself for it. The pleasure he experienced with Ben was unlike anything he had ever felt with any woman. If he wasn’t so attracted to Ariana he wouldn’t have believed he was equally attracted to both sexes. Now he knew he was.

He was a golden eagle shifter, and so was Ben. Perhaps it was their similar genetics that called to each other? There were no golden eagle shifting females in their flock.

“Yeah, who is then?”

Ben shook his head and shuffled his feet. “Are we going to talk to the elders today?”

Chase bit back the smile. Great topic change.

“Yeah, I saw my dad last night, but we’ll need to present a full report to the council today I think.”

Ben nodded. “Right.”

He moved away, and Chase reached out for him, gripping Ben’s thickly muscled arm. They had things they needed to talk about, and he hated the way Ben avoided anything personal.

“Don’t, Chase.” Ben shook him away, and Chase let go, stunned. “Later.”

He watched his best friend walk away, surprised by the intensity of Ben’s refusal. Ben was shorter than Chase, about six foot one, but he was heavier, thicker, more muscled. He was beautiful, with sandy blond hair and his warm brown eyes.

Chase groaned and began to strip. He needed to fly. He was so aroused, confused, frustrated. Where was his control? What was wrong with him?

He had felt the pull of change since he had turned thirty a few weeks ago, and it was frustrating as all hell.

He placed his jeans and shirt on his front step and shifted. His arms became powerful wings, and his face became a golden eagle’s beak and eyes.

He leapt and was soon soaring, the wind across his face and through his feathers, a truly wonderful feeling. Freedom.

He knew his father expected him to choose a mate, to step forward and claim the right to be flock leader. He was of the correct age and was the only son of the current leader. It was what was expected of him, yet he wasn’t ready for that sort of responsibility, especially when he didn’t have a mate to support him.

Chase flew high above the forest and moved directly over the land shifters’ houses. Amazing to think that only a few days ago they had attacked their neighbours over something unsubstantiated. Other feelings made him jerk and fly in another direction. Somewhere down there, their big tiger Alpha was making love to his male and his female mates. Jealousy pulsed through him so hard he had the urge to swoop down for a sticky beak. How would that even work, and could it be possible to find happiness in such a situation?

He flew farther and farther from home, only turning back when he was too tired to continue. He felt lost and confused. Only time would tell what and whom Fate had destined for him. Because God knows, Chase didn’t know.

Pick Katrina’s Wedding Dress (Guest Post – David)

Lilliana has been kind enough to let me take over her blog again today so I can ask for your help.

To cut a long story short, I have taken over the wedding and I’m planning everything – including picking the wedding dress. It all has to be a surprise.

Recently, you all sent in photos of wedding dresses you think will look really great on Trina. Here’s a jumbled up pic of all of them so you can see what I’ve been choosing from.

wedding dresses

It’s been really hard to choose just four because I know that Trina would look gorgeous in any of them, but after careful deliberation, I have selected these ones.

Option ONE

Option 2

Option 3

Option 4

I just want to say a big thank you to everyone for sending in pictures. I really wanted to say ‘all of them!’ but Lilliana said I could only choose four.

The four ladies who sent the selected photos in are in the running to win a signed copy of Commitment as well as their name in the dedications for choosing the winning wedding dress. And of course, they will have mine and Trina’s undying gratitude.

What’s in it for you? Well, pick your favourite by voting in the poll below, and when you’re finished leave a short note in the comments sections. One lucky voter will also win a signed print copy of Commitment.

Good luck!

Winners will be announced on Friday August 30 at 10pm EDT

Who wants to Cameo in Phoenix?

In only a couple of days, Phoenix: The Beauty in Between, will be ready to send out to beta readers. In it, I have inserted a scene specifically for a reader to cameo in, where Paige gets into a nightclub and buys a drink. She’s very nervous and the bartender is kind to her and gives her another drink on the house.

That bartender doesn’t have a face yet. Perhaps you’d like it to be yours?

Enter the rafflecopter below if you’d like to have your name in print. The competition will run all weekend and the winner will be announced on Monday.

Can’t wait to meet the person who will feature in my book!

Friday Feature – INTO DARK WATERS by Rebecca Reilly

Today I have the great pleasure of featuring author, Rebecca Reilly and her recent release Into Dark Waters.

Here’s all you need to know —->

Into the Darkness Rebecca Reilly

The mystery thriller, Into Dark Waters, sets murder, adultery, and intrigue against the backdrop of elegant ocean travel.  A cruise ship is an easy place to commit murder.  Body disposal’s a cinch, and suicide’s the likely verdict. The only problem is determining how to choose the next victim.

Sad and sexy, women find Detective Jim Tanger attractive.  He doesn’t care.  His wife’s suicide three years ago froze his soul.  When he hears that Sunburst Cruises has lost another young female passenger, and that it is assumed she committed suicide, Jim’s passions erupt.  He pushes the department and the cruise line into letting him investigate.  He thought he could do it from land.  When surges of single women sign up for a thirteen-day cruise to Hawaii, Jim is forced to go undercover.  Battling seasickness and overwhelming shyness, Jim must protect the women and find the killer only he believes exists.

Julie Cooper loves her husband Joel.  She hopes their anniversary cruise to Hawaii will be a new beginning for them.  Before her suitcases are unpacked, someone unleashes a campaign of terror against her.  Anonymous threats, cryptic messages in her cabin, and an attempt on her life force Julie to look at the one person who might want her dead; the one person she trusted with her life.

Joel is fond of Julie and glad he married her.  But right now he is shooting up the corporate ladder and the benefits have gone to his head.  Remembering his socially awkward youth, half of him is surprised at the money he is making and the prestige he now enjoys.  The other half is positive he earned it.  For the first time in his life, Joel believes he is irresistible.  Why wouldn’t he?  Kim Rochelle, every man’s fantasy, seduced him and now warms up his private office on a regular basis.  Too bad he’ll have to leave Kim when he cruises to Hawaii with his wife–or will he?

Excerpt from Into Dark Waters:

He moaned, deep and feral, as he watched her walk by.  I see you.  I see you gloriously alone.  Not a soul paying any attention to you–except for me.  “Don’t go back to your room yet, little Geri,” he whispered.  “Just keep going; the deck is waiting.  I know you well enough to know that you’ll choose to go somewhere private, away from the crowds.  Enjoy the beautiful night, Geri.  Keep walking.”  He smiled when she moved past her stateroom door with only the slightest hesitation.

It was dangerous to take her on the first night.  There were more people out walking around now than there would be later on in the cruise.  There was another problem.  After Geri was celebrated, there would be twelve nights left.  What would he do for all that time?  There would be no anticipation, no planning or no dreaming to entertain him.  Maybe he could look at the other girls.  He’d invited a lot of them.  But he never knew which ones would come, or which one would appeal to him when he saw her face.  He’d never spent time with more than one girl on the same trip.  He was a one-woman-man.  He laughed at his own joke.  But tonight Geri was calling him.  He would take care of Geri now and worry about the rest of the cruise later.

The white wake foaming up over the dark water mesmerized Geri; and the sheer power of the ship cutting across the ocean thrilled her.  Looking out, she could see nothing, just black.  No stars, no fish.  The sea felt almost sinister, and the hair on the back of Geri’s neck rose.  The great dark ocean swirled deeply beneath and around her, hiding predators and prey.  It showed nothing–revealed nothing, and it suited her mood.  She could hear dancing on the open deck above, but she did not want to be there.  The sound was too cheerful in contrast to her gloom.  Here she stood alone–she felt much safer when she was alone.  Geri didn’t hear him walk up behind her.  She sensed his presence only as he slid the scarf around her neck.  Before she could move or make a sound, he twisted it tight.  Then there was nothing at all.

About the Author:

Rebecca Reilly spent 39 days traveling the oceans last year to “research” Into Dark Waters.  She loves research!  When she’s in her Northern California home, she works as a pastor of student ministries, a massage therapist, a health coach, and a writer.  Rebecca enjoys variety in life and in books.  Nora Roberts, Georgette Heyer, Jane Austen, James Patterson, LM Montgomery, and Lisa Lutz are among her favorite authors.  She enjoys writing mysteries, but has also written humor (Diary of a Christian Woman: How I Used 50 Shades of Grey to Spice Up My Marriage) and a children’s chapter book (The Geek Club).  Right now, Rebecca is working on follow-up novels in all three genres.  You can follow Rebecca on Facebook ( and Twitter (

I’ve been tagged! Blog Hop Interview

A little while ago I was tagged by the lovely Dennis Higgins, a man with a penchant for writing about time travel with his Time Pilgrims Series, to complete this series of interview questions and then tag more authors to keep the post hopping along.

You can find out all about Dennis and his series by reading his blog hop post HERE.

Read on to find my answers to the interview questions:

1. What are you working on right now?

Phoenix: The Beauty in Between. It’s the companion novel to my romance A Beautiful Forever.

2. How does it differ from other works in its genre?

It is a part of a romance series, but it’s anything but. It follows the life of Paige, who was thrown out of home at a young age and was forced to do everything she could to survive. The point of this book is to show readers Paige’s journey before they met her in A Beautiful Forever, it will have a hopeful ending as it will take them on her journey up until she meets the hero of Forever.

3. Why do you write what you do?

Would you believe that little people are living in my head and won’t be quiet until I write down their story? … No?

Ok, I write what I do because I’m in love with love and I’m in love with the journeys people embark on to find themselves.

What is it that makes a person think they aren’t worthy of others? What is it that makes someone think that they are more deserving than others. What is it that makes two people who are so different choose each other?

I like to show that love, caring and patience can make all the difference in someone’s life and give them the strength to move on.

4. How does your writing process work?

I’m constantly thinking about my stories and how I want them to go. Normally, I sit down with my husband and talk through what I’m planning for the story. I know that he will be straight with me and ask me lots of questions to uncover plot holes and any inconsistencies that I may not have looked at.

Then I sit down and write. I write the story from start to finish. This first draft is my bones.

I then go back to the beginning and start again, adding the flesh and giving the story more life.

I make lots of notes when new ideas pop into my head or if I realise I forgot something and I organise them throughout the story as I work back through it. It’s very rare that I will go backwards, but occasionally, I’ll wake up in the morning and realise that I need to change everything I wrote the day before.

Thank you for the tag, Dennis! Good luck with your WIP!

In addition, I am tagging the following authors. Be sure to check out their blog posts next Monday!

Aviva Scott –

Time to Breathe…

I don’t like leaving my manuscripts unfinished.

Generally, when I start writing, I work every day until the first draft is complete. Then I start again.

This time though, I needed to stop. Even if it was just for today.

Paige is a hard character for me to write, she’s had a hard life. Living in her head isn’t the easiest thing I’ve ever done and it’s been emotionally draining for me.

I feel nervous every time I start working on her story. I’m worried that I don’t have the words in me to explain her. I’m worried that no one will understand her.

I’ve forced myself to keep going, to get through the worst part of her life so we can move on. So she can recover. So she can meet Elliot.

I admit that I have been in tears more than once while writing this book and last night, I got through the part that was hardest for me to write. I could have glossed over it, but it’s important to be there with her and understand the pain that is the turning point in her life.

This book has been a journey for me so far, and I look forward to waking up in the morning and watching Paige start to get her life back on track.

But today, I’m drained. Today I rest.
